Export, EAR99 Classification & CAGE/NCAGE CODE

As some of Digi-Pas angular displacement instruments and sensors are extremely high resolution and accuracy, these products may be used in advanced research laboratories, aerospace and other defense applications, therefore U.S. Government requires an export license to be obtained for export or re-export of products listed in the Commerce Control List (CCL).

Specifically, angular displacement measuring instrument having an angular position accuracy equal to or less (better) 0.9 second of arc is categorized under ECCN 2B006.c on the Commerce Control List (CCL) and requires export license. Any person or entity intending to ship one of those products listed in the Commerce Control List to a destination outside of the United States must apply for and receive the export license before the product can be shipped to its final destination.

EAR99 Classification Compliance Digi-Pas Products

Angular displacement measuring instrument with accuracy values larger than 0.00025° (deg.) or 0.9 second of arc are classified as "EAR99" and do not require an export license. Since export licensure may take from a few weeks to many months, or could be denied in some cases and in aligning to U.S. Government guidelines, Digipas Technologies Inc. develops products version that are in compliance with EAR99 classification. These EAR99 compliance instrument and sensor versions are specifically designed to keep accuracy values larger than 0.00025° (deg.) or 0.9 second of arc while maintaining all other features of the product versions so that they do not require export license. However, exports of an EAR99 item to an embargoed country, end-user(s) of concern or in support of a prohibited end-use may require an export license.

Export licensure is controlled by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). More information is available on the BIS web site at: https://www.bis.gov/regulations. However, exports to most European Union countries, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Canada usually do not require an export license.
